Auditions for principal and secondary roles in New York and St. Louis.

Materials Required

Email to auditions@www.winteroperastl.org including:

  • Principal Auditions
  • What roles you are auditioning for
  • Which city you are auditioning in
  • The date you would like to audition and what preferred time(s)
  • Head shot
  • Resume – in PDF Format
  • An audio or video recording is not necessary but we will accept links to recordings and websites only.
  • Are you interested in Chorus? – St. Louis locals ONLY
  • $35 accompanist fee in NY –  ONLY IF YOU ARE GRANTED AN AUDITION 
  • $25 accompanist fee in STL – ONLY IF YOU ARE GRANTED AN AUDITION
  • Please use “Auditions” as the subject in the email.
Only qualified artists will be granted an audition.  Once notified of your time, please use the PayPal link provided to pay the accompanist fee or mail us a check made out to Winter Opera St. Louis.  Please make your payment within 3 days to secure your time. Auditions will not be finalized until payment is made.

Audition Requirements

Prepare 4-5 arias from memory if you are auditioning for a principal or comprimario role.

If you are auditioning for a specific role please prepare an aria from the opera.

If you are auditioning for Chorus, please prepare 2-3 arias – St. Louis ONLY

 

Opportunity Information

Housing is provided in St. Louis

Transportation to and from St. Louis is provided.

Our artist fees for comprimario and principals roles range from $800-$2500.

Artists are brought in two and a half weeks before the production to rehearse.

Rehearsals are no more than six hours per day.

Chorus is hired locally

Most comprimario roles are cast locally
